What is Qi Gong
Qi Gong (also spelled Chi Kung) literally means ‘energy work’. Qi Gong is the collective designation for a vast array of traditional Chinese respiration and movement exercises, used for self-healing, health preservation and meditation.
In contrast to Taijiquan, these exercises employ only few, relatively simple movements, and focus mostly on the work with internal energy (Qi).
Qi Gong is a traditional part of Chinese martial arts – fighting in bad health is generally not a good idea – but also enjoys great popularity as an autonomous set of exercises.
